Energizing a Coalition With a Historic New Leader

Precision prepared The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights to announce civil rights leader and former NYC mayoral candidate Maya Wiley’s appointment as the next president and CEO.

Situation

In early 2022, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights announced that Maya Wiley would be joining the organization as the next president and CEO. In an effort to capitalize on Wiley’s rising star as a recent NYC mayoral candidate, frequent cable news contributor, and widely popular voice in the online progressive movement, Precision helped The Leadership Conference create an energetic, celebratory announcement and leverage that energy to build The Leadership Conference’s brand.

Approach

To highlight Wiley’s deep roots in the civil rights movement and showcase her enthusiasm for revitalizing The Leadership Conference’s critical work in a post-2020 world, Precision created a full suite of creative to announce Wiley’s new role, including an action-oriented introductory video. After going live with the announcement, we developed and engaged with content from high-profile surrogates and closely monitored online response in the following hours and days that followed to maintain high visibility and widespread digital momentum.
