Henry Connelly is a battle-tested communications strategist and former communications director for Speaker Nancy Pelosi who has been at the center of some of the hardest fights and brightest spotlights of the last decade.
At Precision, Henry draws on his intimate understanding of the dynamics of Congress, national press, and outside stakeholders to help clients navigate the increasingly volatile political, policy, and media landscape to achieve their goals both in D.C. and beyond.
During his nine years as a trusted senior aide to Speaker Pelosi, Henry had a leading role in crafting the messaging and strategy that delivered historic political, legislative, and electoral victories — often in defiance of overwhelmingly pessimistic conventional wisdom.
Before becoming a senior spokesman for the Speaker, Henry served as Pelosi’s director of speechwriting. Over the course of his time in her office, Henry drafted major ceremonial speeches and live-broadcast, primetime addresses including the announcement of the original impeachment investigation and the Democratic response to President Trump’s Oval Office speech during the 2019 government shutdown standoff.
Prior to his time with Speaker Pelosi, Henry served for three years with then-Congresswoman Janice Hahn of Los Angeles in a hybrid communications and legislative role — covering a broad range of policy issues and House committee business.
Henry was born in New York, raised in Los Angeles, and graduated from Yale University. He lives in Washington, D.C.
