Lena Shareef is a multimedia strategist with over a decade of experience in digital and social media strategy, audience development, executive thought leadership, and project management.

Lena is an associate vice president on the digital team, and worked on Precision’s largest client—The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation—for over two and half years; leading a team that focused on developing the executive thought leadership for eight different leaders at the Gates Foundation. She also works on digital strategy and content development for Gilead Sciences and Science Moms. Additionally, she provides project management support on the paid media work that Precision does for Earthjustice.

Prior to joining Precision, she worked as a senior producer on National Geographic’s audience development team. She managed several of their social media accounts—including launching their Reddit account—while also developing promotional campaigns for various projects, including single-topic magazine issues, documentary films, and television shows streaming on Disney+. She has also worked at two other agencies in digital strategy, including FleishmanHillard in New York City and Fenton in Washington, D.C.

Lena graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. with a bachelor’s degree in film and video production and a minor in international studies. She received her master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.

Lena grew up moving around quite a bit and spent her childhood in Pakistan, Ukraine, and the American Midwest (specifically Michigan and Ohio). She currently lives in San Diego, California with her husband, daughter, and two cats.
