Marissa Astor is a communications strategist and media relations expert with more than a decade of experience in politics and public affairs. At Precision, she helps nonprofit and corporate clients across multiple sectors achieve their goals by creating and implementing comprehensive strategic plans, building unconventional and inspiring campaigns, developing clear and compelling messaging that mobilizes people, and securing top-tier media placements. She has also worked with major technology and health care companies to advance their priorities and drive meaningful engagement with key stakeholders.

Prior to joining Precision, Marissa served as deputy press secretary to Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, where she helped the governor and his administration communicate effectively with diverse populations around complex issues and historic moments including a global pandemic, Medicaid expansion, and several legislative sessions that produced generational victories. She previously worked on Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and on President Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign in surrogate operations and communications roles. She also served as a White House intern in the Office of the Senior Advisor to the President.

 A Maryland native, Marissa graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in political science and psychology.
